6 Year mark is approaching at the end of June 2016.
When will I be taken off the AiB register? Trustee Discharge Date and
Debtor Discharge Date are blank. Will this happen after 6 years?
Also on my credit file one of my creditors (Halifax CC) has a default against every month since the default date of 14.07.2010, will this disappear after the 6 years?
Last year I managed to get a credit card in order to repair my credit rating and have been using it the way I should, already had the limit raised twice.
I'm really at the point of needing a new car and was hoping after the 6 years I could get some car finance, If my credit score has improved and Trust deed removed from my credit file is there any hidden reasons that might hinder my application?
Welcome to the forum bl1985.
Your entry on the Register of Insolvencies will be removed one year after your trustee has been discharged. If neither yours nor your trustee's discharge is recorded on the Register, it seems you might want to enquire into what's happened/happening with your trustee and/or the AIB.
I think the default notice you mention should vanish from your credit report around July 2016. I don't know whether this will remove the subsequent monthly default recording - but I think I may recollect a member writing here that this had happened for them.
Is that default notice marked satisfied or partially satisfied?
I'm not aware of any hidden reasons related to an old trust deed why you could not get car finance. I'm sure a lender will review your application in line with your current credit status and the affordability of the finance you're looking for.

I've had my form 5 letter of discharge already, is this what should action the removal of my name from that register?
The default is showing as partially satisfied, any idea what happens with this type of default?
Just called creditfix and they are going to ask to get my name taken off the register. Once this has been done i'm guessing a search for my name will bring up no result? Or will it still be there with a discharge date?
Hi again bl1985.
It's your trustee's discharge (Form 6) that's important here rather than yours (Form 5). One year after your trustee has been discharged your entry on the Register of Insolvencies will be removed. Your trustee may discharge themselves some considerable period after your own discharge.
If your trustee has been discharged for more than a year already I'd imagine your entry on the public register will be removed.
I think your default notice on your credit report will disappear six years after it was issued.
Hi bl1985
The Trust Deed will be removed from your Credit File six years from the date it was started.
The other credit file defaults will also be removed six years after their recorded default date.
You need to check the default dates recorded against each creditor.
If those dates are different (later than) the Trust Deed default date, that Creditor default will remain showing as a default until six years after the default date. They are very often different.
If the date against the creditors is not long (just few weeks) after the date of the Trust Deed you may wish to wait rather than have protracted time and effort to get the date changed.
Please note that there are three main credit reference agencies: CallCredit (also Noddle which is free), Equifax and Experian
In my personal experience, they can have different information recorded.
Noddle is free to register and check.
Checkmyfile.co.uk gives you CallCredit and Equifax but not Experian. Checkmyfile is £7.99 per month.
Experian is around £15 a month.
Or you can write and ask the for a copy to be sent out for £2. Slower process of course.
Hope that helps.
Thanks a lot for the help everyone 🙂
