Hi,

I was told by Invocas that all defaults would come off my credit rating after 5 years however i've just been on to Credit Expert website and they say 6 years.

I was discharged from my TD in January 2008 however there are still 4 companies that say I have outstanding debt.

How do I get these balances removed. Do I contact Credit Expert?

Thanks
Kimmie T

Hi KimmieT,

We're not experts on credit files and credit ratings but it's my understanding that all information on a credit file will stay there for a period of six years.

Your Trust Deed company has no role in liasing with credit reference agencies.

Are you saying that there are 4 default notices on the file? What dates were they added to the file?

It is 6 years for any entry to disappear. However, your debts should show as settled and I think you may need to contact the credit reference company and ask about making a correction to your file, KimmieT.
