Hello. Just wanted to post after a long time of reading advice here over the last few years which has been very useful - Thank you.
This week marks six years since my TD! It has gone quick, and I'm glad that date has come.
I checked my credit files and one score is good and the other poor. (Although I know lenders dont just go on these). I'm now wondering if I should obtain a credit card to try and build my credit rating up a little as all that is on it now is one mobile contract and one broadband provider.
I'm actually emigrating next year but I've read advice that its useful to take a copy of your credit report with you to show some evidence when trying to open bank accounts etc., which is why I'd like to improve it.

Now that my six years is up can I apply to companies which were involved in my TD, or will they always have my name on a personal record and not lend to me?

I believe it can help your creditworthiness to have used credit recently and have been repaying it without problems, so maybe a credit card would help with that. I am always naturally sceptical about telling anyone to take credit though!

I'm not sure there is a clear answer to your second question really. Some may have your details on file and not lend to you as a result, but I wouldn't be surprised if others were fine about lending to you despite your previous trust Deed.
