How long after being discharged should I wait for debts showing as defaulted on my credit report to show as being settled?
I know they won't completely come off my credit report until Sept 2016.

Thanks for the continued fountain of knowledge. πŸ™‚

Not an exact science, Amerififer. From what others have reported on here I think you will find that some creditors will be fairly quick to update the file and others may take several weeks, or possibly not at all unless you chase them up.

I'd agree with Kevin on this Amerififer.

I guess it comes down to how important your credit rating is to you:

The sooner you start the more work you're likely to have to do - some of which would have been unnecessary if you'd waited a bit longer.

The sooner you start the sooner you're likely to get the outcome you want - a fully updated credit file.

Effort versus reward I guess!

I'm resurrecting this thread as my query is related to it. πŸ™‚ I am thinking of chasing up the two creditors who haven't shown my debts as satisfied and still show up as defaults..
My query is...
Who do i chase up? the original lenders the debt was with or the reporting agency ie: callcredit and equifax ????

Hi Amerififer.

Chase the lender - they need to re-report accurate information to the credit reference agencies.

Good luck with it Amerififer. Please let us know if we can help any further as you "encourage" them to put these matters right.

How many creditors did this without any prompting from you?
