Hi, I am posting this for a friend even though I have a trust deed myself. My friend does not work is on Jobseekers allowance and currently has £24,000 in debt that she was left with by a previous partner (in her name unfortunatley) that she cannot afford to pay back. She is a single parent and looking to head down the route of sequestration. Her debt is due to finance companies for cars taken out years ago that she no longer has (she could not drive it was her partner that could) also can Virgin Media be included in sequestration as a creditor? Can you please tell me how she goes about this? Can any experts from the forum go through this for her or does she need to go to her local cab? Many thanks

Hi Lmm

She can look at the AIB website for info. www.aib.gov.uk and also print off the forms from the site.

The form is fairly straightforward, but she needs to pay their £100 petition cost. The CAB would run through this with her.
