hi forum,i wont go into too much detail as yet, short of it is i went to see about a trust deed a week and a half ago,we discussed my budget and various things,i was told by the chap to open up a new bank account as alot of my debt is through my existing bank,he told me to let him know once i have done this, via e-mail.i have mailed him on 3 occasions now and havent heard anything back,is this normal procedure?also at what point of the procedings does your name enter the edinburgh gazette?and finally do i continue to pay my creditors while this is being set up?any advice would be appreciated as i don't know if my trust deed is being handled just now or what.thank you

Hi upthecreek and welcome to the Trust Deed forum.

It sounds to me that you might want to get on the phone to the company to hurry things along. You may well find out that the individual concerned has been away from work for a few days on holiday or for the regular training that's required for their position.

Your details will be placed in the Edinburgh Gazette only after you've signed the Trust Deed.

With regard to ongoing payment to your creditors I'd suggest you follow the advice of the firm that are assisting you. Some may suggest to pay what you can afford, others may suggest that you cease making payments if the Trust Deed will soon be ready to sign. Whatever you do we'd suggest not borrowing any more money to fund payments to creditors.

The advice about changing your bank account is standard good advice and it's great that you've taken care of that already.

Probably a week or two I would have thought.

You can monitor it yourself on the Edinburgh Gazette website if you'd like to keep yourself up to date.

Hi upthecreek

I would have expected the notice to have been in the gazette by now. You can check by searching the undernoted:

Hi upthecreek

I would have expected the notice to appear at the end of the following week (at the latest) The Gazette is issued twice a week.

I would follow TDA's advice and call your IP for an update.

Regards

Mark
