Hi new to forum but been avidly reading
Im in a horrid situation where i discovered too late that my house was being repossessed (husband paid it and told me nothing)this was 2 yrs ago - we now live in a rented house and i thought we had gotten ourselves out of debt - albeit we still didnt know what the mortgage shortfall would be- anyway long story i have discovered that my husband hasnt yet again been paying what he should and we have seperated (yes i shouldn have trusted him)i have also found that with the mortagage shortfall and debt we owe a huge amount- i think the only option is a trust deed as bankrupcy would affect my job- however because we make such big repayments to our debt my ex cant actually afford to move out so we are stuck in a no mans land- im not sure what to do next and keep putting off contacting someone as the trust deed sounds so scary- also i will need to keep house etc for kids so not even sure if my income will cover all- guess my question is can i look into trust deed while he still living with me we stuck cause he cant move out while we paying it all- and how do you cope with the scary feelings and emotion that a trust deed set off- also worth saying that mortagage company havent approached yet for payment but they will and the shortfall is what puts me in a position of not being able to pay- i could cope with the rest of the debt but the shortfall was 60,000 so would be impossible

Welcome to the trust deed forum Joni.

I cannot see any reason that would prevent you from going ahead with a trust deed connected to your husband living with you.

In fact, if you have rent arrears it sounds as though it's very important that steps are taken (of whatever sort) to prioritise catching up on the arrears and making sure it's kept up to date in the future.

In terms of your questions about the worry and feelings associated with facing up to a trust deed (or any type of debt solution) I hope our members who have confronted similar situations may be able to share their experiences with you.

Hi joni

My advice is to sit down and talk through all the options. It is never as scary as people believe and as long as you look at all the options and ensure all matters are fully discussed, then I'm sure there will be a solution.

Regards

Mark
