I just looked at the Companies who participate here fees.....Im being terribly thick today but do I have to pay them up front or are they taken from my monthly payments if and when I enter into a DAS scheme?
Hello lisel.
The amount that you can afford to pay each month will be calculated.
That is the only amount that you will pay.
The debt arrangement scheme fees, if you use a commercial provider, would be taken from that affordable amount you are paying each month (so you would not need to find any extra money on top for fees).
Thanks TDA! Just catching my breath and making ready to call one of the Companies who advise on this site.
Lisel
You would have to talk to the Companies regarding Fees as they will all be different and some package around the circumstances of the client.

Hi
sorry i tried to reply lat night but wasnt successful because of the work being carried out. Eacg company is different, but the costs should be built into you monthly payment of what you can afford. Hopefully you not have to pay anything upfront. Our fees re slpit over the first 3 years of the DAS, and then after that, the whole amount goes to the DAS payment.

For anyone reading this who is considering using the debt arrangement scheme the fees (or lack of them) matter.
DAS involves repaying the full amount of your debts, albeit without any further interest or charges, at a rate of repayment you can afford (assuming sufficient creditor agreement at the start).
There is a fee-free option which can be accessed, often, via your local CAB or Local Authority money advisers.
You can also pay for the service, including via an increasing number of firms that also provide protected trust deeds. Three of the firms represented on this site (by Shona/Michael, Kevin and Chris) offer DAS as part of their services.
They each have different fee structures which, according to your circumstances, will make a difference to how long it takes you to clear your debts in full.
Details for these three firms are on our fees page which can be accessed via the main site menu.
Basically, fees for DAS matter so it's wise to take an interest in the subject prior to making a final commitment.
