That's great. Hats off to you for your persistence, but also credit to your mortgage lender - a bit of flexibility and fairness for a change rather than the usual "computer says no" attitude!

That's fantastic news. as Kevin said nice to see the lender adopting a sensible approach in these circumstances. Hopefully this will allow you to go on and secure the additional funding you need.

As Kevin says credit to them for flexibility, I went into the branch to talk to them about a mortgage after having been with them for about 8 years and ended up switching accounts because they said the would not lend to me.

Take a look at the first page Question 17, they must have considered your history with them

Hi all

**update**

Santander still turned me down for additional borrowing, after me doing what was asked by their mortgage advisor !

I decided to take the advice from you guys. I called L&C mortgage brokers through the money expert website. I am pleased to say that I got accepted with the Halifax #128513;.

I highly recommended L&C. Can’t believe how stress free this was !

That's very good to hear nells99.

Mortgage brokers can make things much easier when people don't have perfect credit histories.

Hi

Happy ending update !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the advice that you all gave and went with a broker, uks no1 online broker L&C. . The process was stress free and I got the additional borrowing also !!

I can’t recommend L&C highly enough Friday on start to finish !

Without the advice on here I would have just remained with my current lender so glad I didn’t as I got a better deal !!!
