Hi Nells,

It falls off your credit file six years after it began.

Might there be a different reason that this mortgage lender rejected your application? They take into account all sorts of factors.

Hi TD

I was told by the bank today that they could see I was released 4 years ago. However their policy is you need to be out of TD for 6 years which is fine i accept that. I dont understand how they can see it on my credit file if i cant.

I'm not sure where they are seeing that, but maybe try somewhere else? That seems like way longer than most lenders.

Hi nells.

They might keep their own records, this information was publicly available on the insolvency registers at certain points in time.

Hi TDA

Yeah that's right and i remember checking the insolvency register a couple of years ago
And my name had been removed. Therefore thinking at this moment in time all trace of the the TD was gone.

I am registered with Noddle and clear score (free service) would it be beneficial for me to pay and get a report or does it show the same info as the free service ?

Thanks

Well... my personal answer to that question is that I've used both in the past, but have only used one of the free ones for years now.

Each of the major credit reference agencies might hold slightly different information about you though, so there is an argument for checking them all if it's really important to know exactly what information is being held about you.

Hi Nells,

I use Clearscore (which gets data from Equifax)
On that, my name is clear.

However, I just signed up for another new one called Totally Money (I think get their data from Call credit) and it shows a default account, which clearscore doesn't.

As its free, I'd recommend you sign up for that too.
