Hi blackboab

Someone from that firm sometimes posts on here when there are complaints, hopefully he can respond to yours.

There really is no justification for delays to that extent if all payments have been made. I think the only other option is a recorded delivery letter to your trustee and a formal complaint to their authorising body if that doesnt resolve matters.

I think this issue and the number of threads it has generated clearly shows that it is an area of the PTD process that needs to be addressed as part of the review into PTDs by AiB/Scottish Government. Their consultaion paper last year indicated they recognised the inconsistency of handling the closure process by IPs - let's hope that is reflected in changes introduced as a result.

Hi Blackboab, I am very sorry that you have not received your letter of discharge.

I have spoken to the team and can confirm that your letter was posted at the beginning of this month so I would have expected you should have received this by now.

I have popped another one in the post and again apologise for the delay. We can of course e mail a copy if this is better for you?

Just to explain a little although you have completed your contributions your Trustee needs to tie up any lose ends before we are able to discharge you and your Trustee, which in some cases needs to occur at the same time.

I appreciate that that after all the hard work in making your agreed contributions, receiving your letter of discharge will be a relief and allow you to move on with your life.

Finally congratulations on completing your Trust Deed! We wish you all the best for a debt free future.

Hi blackboab

Glad it's been sorted. As you say, a wee bit longer than expected, but you can now look forward.
