I am approaching the end of my 8k TD but have failed to make circa 2.8k of payments. Now I know I can request to extent my TD but my friend has (extremely generously) offered to pay the remaining balance, if it means I don't have to extend the TD. Is this fair comment, in other words, if this happened would I be expected to continue to pay funds?

Welcome to the forum Arrow2014.

This is a matter for you to raise with your trustee to check that they'll agree to your friend paying any remaining liability under your trust deed obligations.

I doubt that they'll say no because, as you have described it, this would seem to be in the best interests of your creditors.

Hi Arrow2014

I can't see any reason why not. They'll probably bite your hand off!

Well they have bitten my hand off and explained after receiving funds they will apply for discharge. I guess now the question is, how long does that take and once I have paid the funds can I assume I don't need to keep Apex in the loop with my finances, job changes etc or do I have to wait for discharge?

They also stated as I thought would be the case that my PPI investigations will continue. Is my credit rating able to improve while this is ongoing or am I in limbo until that is completed.

Hi Arrow

Once paid, they should be able to discharge you in 4 weeks or so. They can remain in office to deal with PPI, however this has no effect on your income, bonuses etc as your part is finished. It also has no effect on your credit rating.
