Hi , I have just had my first review having been in my trust deed for 1 year , I have to contact the company as they have questions about my income expenditure . My expenditure has gone up with rent increase and also community charge increase (no longer get single discount as son is 18 ). My wages do fluctuate due to new wages system and are never accurate with losses of ยฃ100 , this is currently being looked at and hopefully repayment of wages should be soon . I was wondering if I will have to hand over all the repayment of wages owed to me to my trustee ? and if I do will this reduce the length of time I am in my deed .
Hello getting there and welcome to the forum.
The answers to these questions will of course have to come from your trustee.
However, your contribution should be based upon your total actual income minus your reasonable expenditure.
Because your normal income has been messed up you'll want to discuss the issue with your trustee otherwise they may fail to understand what your regular earnings will be in the future.
Improvements in circumstances will not usually reduce the agreed term of a trust deed. They're more likely to result in an increased payment to your creditors.
Are you saying that your contribution to your trust deed was based on an average wage that didn't include these extra funds that you may receive? If so, then your trustee may well seek an extra payment from you, though they should also take into account increases in your outgoings too.
Thanks , at the time it was based on correct wages , due to new way of paying us i lose ยฃ100 when ever I take a holiday ! , this has just come to light, I am more than happy to pay extra payments and give any money I receive to them . hopefully wages will be sorted out soon and I will know how much I am supposed to be earning .
If your contribution was based on the correct, higher wager level and the extra payments are just to bring you back to what you should have been receiving all along then I don't see why you should have to pay this money across, getting there. Just make sure that you fully explain the circumstances to your trustee if they do query the funds.
