I've been a lurker for a while on this site but have just realised that I am 12 months into my TD!!!

While, yes it has been a struggle, the fact that I have no debt (I know I do but it isn't staring me in the face/post/telephone calls) is such a relief. I can actually sleep at night!

It also brings me to realise that actually surviving without credit is hugely scary but very rewarding. Budgeting has become a task that I quite like - getting my spreadsheet in order every month feels like I have accomplished something! Actually buying things with money instead of plastic is lovely - not fearing that bill dropping through the door and becoming creative in gift buying!

I am really just putting this out there to say that yes, it is a massive life changing decision you are making if you take out a TD but once you have made the decision, gone through the processes and become protected the relief is immense!

For me, I feel (and hope) that I can actually live the life I want without going daft buying crap I don't need because I had a little plastic card that meant I could!!!

Hope the next two years go as quickly as this one has!

Have a great weekend! [:D]

That's great feedback as well Neverendingstory. I hope that the middle part of your protected trust deed passes as quickly as the first year.

When we speak with people they often tell us how much they value reading the experience of people at various stages of the trust deed process; thank you for sharing yours.

neverendingstory's line that " I can actually live the life I want without going daft buying crap I don't need because I had a little plastic card that meant I could!!!" is the mantra many of us can/should/will follow - a helpful reminder!

My PTD is now complete and can assure you the remaining two years for you will pass much quicker than the first! I look back on how I got into my mess - those little moments of madness with a credit card (or four)- and it is good to hear how much you are benefitting in so many ways one year on! Very well done!

It is great to hear so many positive remarks. Most Trust Deeds actually run without problem, and benefit people so much. Well done to you both.
