Hi, during my trust deed my partner was still able to get credit without too much trouble. I don't know if it's coincidence, but since I have been discharged, he is no longer able to obtain credit for anything. We are financially linked due to our mortgage and bank account, he has never defaulted on any payments.

Surely credit agencies should assess him in his own right, it doesn't seem fair that he's not able to get credit because of my poor history.

I fulfilled my obligations last November but not discharged until last month. Is anyone else experiencing the same frustrations as us?

Hi prenticebaby.

I doubt that this change relates to your discharge.

Your partner will be credit scored in his own name only - but any lender that follows a financial association to someone with a poor credit history may choose not to lend even if the applicant otherwise scored highly.

What's he been applying for and what's the decline reasons? And how many applications? Not being nosey, just trying to come up with some answers. e.g Mobile phone, mortgage, Cineworld card...

Was the bank account included in the Trust Deed?
