Hi im a newbie! My husband & I had a meeting with RSM Tenon yesterday and signed for our TD. Now im panicking about this 5 week wait before it (hopefully) becomes protected! I understand our details will be published in the Edinburgh gazette, how soon does this happen after we sign for a TD? Just so I can start the official countdown!

Thanks
Kez13

Hi Kez13 and welcome.

The five weeks start from the point that your trust deed is advertised in the Edinburgh Gazette by the firm concerned.

A quick call to them should enable you to confirm when this will happen. There's no reason normally for it to take long.

Hi Kez13

I signed my TD with RSM Tenon on the 25 Aug and it was in the Edinburgh Gazette on the 9 Sept. The five weeks wait seemed to take forever but you've done the hard part, there's nothing you can do now but wait. Keep yourself busy and try not to worry you'll be protected soon I'm sure.

Thanks AlphaB! Your right, I need to try and not think about it - The person we dealt with at RSM Tenon was very helpful and she did say they deal with these companies day in day out so they know what criteria they are looking for and wouldnt knowingly submit a trust deed knowling it was likely to be rejected - i just need to focus on that!
Im dreading the next part of being hassled by my creditors...Im a natural worrier!! [:I]

Don't worry about the creditors Kez13.

There will be plenty of members here with tips and suggestions based on their own experience that will help you to deal with this if it happens.
