I came home tonight to a whole load of mail saying I was in default. One credit card company said that although they have noted my "insolvency" they will continue to send letters and may pass my debt on. I feel the worry all building up again. Has anyone on the forum got any advice.
Please don't worry about this too much SunnyM. It doesn't mean anything, it will settle down, and it's something many people reading this will have experienced in the early stages of their trust deed.
Technically, if you're not paying your creditors you are in default because you're not making the contractual payments according to the credit agreements you originally agreed to. Your creditors will likely issue default notices, and they have to let you know that as a matter of procedure.
Your debts may well be passed to other agencies to deal with. Some lenders may sell the debts. They have to tell you if they're doing this. This doesn't matter much to you though as they'll continue to be covered by your trust deed.
You can pass such correspondence on to your trustee to check if you're finding any of it especially worrying.
Thanks TDA....my husband knows nothing about all this and I'm worried he will ask me what all the mail is but heyho I just need to cross that bridge and all that.
