A good while ago I tried to claim PPI from Bank...well before even my Trust Deed was thought of. Was unsuccessful so totally forgot about it. Entered a TD last year and have just received, out of the blue, a letter saying I am entitled to PPI after all. Is this money legitimately mine since it was well before I ever entered a TD?
Second query, received a letter in from credit card company saying my debt had been sold on. What happens here.
Your trustee will more than likely investigate whether you have an claim on PPI refunds so best to speak to them about it as they will more than likely claim it for payment towards your debts.
With regards the credit card debt being sold on. It matters not a jot to you now you're in a TD. Just send the letter on to your trustee, they will take care of it.
Many thanks, that helps me a good bit.
Hi SunnyM.
Don't worry about the debt sale. This is common and makes no difference to you. You may wish to make your trustee aware.
As mapleleaf has already said, the PPI payment will need to be paid over to your trustee. This is because it's an asset that vested in your trustee when you signed up. The fact that the source of the claim pre-dates your trust deed isn't relevant I'm afraid.
