As I have posted before on this site, I received my discharge in November 2013. I have asked the trustee when I can expected them to be discharged and was told it will takes as long as it takes. I posted on here for advise and was told by my trustee that my case would not be discussed on an open forum. I have spoken to the AIB who advised me to put my request in writing to the trustee, and that I should be given a clear indication of the processes outstanding.
As has been posted on hear before I do understand that my financial obligations are satisfied and that there is a process which they are required to go through in respect of their own closer. Yes, the trustees discharge makes little difference as my side of things has ended, but I want to draw a line and know when everything is completed and discharged. Furthermore I do no believe that this is unreasonable for me to what this concluded.
I have since emailed sent the following email to my trustee:
"I had a protected trust deed with yourself from which I was discharged in Nov 2013. Can you please advise me as to when you will be seeking your discharge as the trustee and what processes are still outstanding which are delaying this process. Or can you advise me as to who I should contact to clarity this"
and this was the response I received:
"I forwarded your e-mail to Mark and he responded as follows:-
Can you advise that the position has been discussed with her on numerous occasions personally, on the Trust Deed forum and more recently to the AIB.
I do not intend to enter into any further dialogue on this matter and as discussed, the case will be processed for closure when I am satisfied all matters have been finalised."
Obviously I am never going to get an answer??
Why can I not be told what the 'matters' to be finalised are?
People have spoken on here about delays due to PPI - Iv never had PPI
but if I was told that this was being investigated anyway and causing any delay then I could as others on here have suggested chase this up myself to come to a quicker conclusion.
I also find it strange that in this open forum where people discuss their concerns in an open manner, and receive advise and support, that my own trustee refuses to discuss my own case with me personally, on the phone via email or on here. At every attempt I am told that it will not be discussed, and that no further dialogue will be entered into.
Is my requested to know what matters are outstanding sooo unrealistic????????
Hi lizmil.
It's difficult to comment not knowing all of the communication that has previously taken place between you and your trustee. It does sound a little bit as though your trustee doesn't feel that they have any further information that they're able to provide to you in excess of what has been communicated previously - though that's just a guess of mine. It sounds like you might both be a little frustrated.
I know I've written this before to you (sorry) but I wouldn't spend too much emotional energy on this. It really shouldn't hold you back. You've completed your obligations and in return been promptly granted your discharge - it sounds as though you and your trustee have both worked hard to meet your obligations to each other in this respect. The trustee seeking their discharge is really between them and your previous creditors rather than a matter that should concern you overly. I know it does though - and I wish I could write something slightly different that would help to reassure you.
