I think it should reflect the same principle, namely that your credit file reflects your reality.

Therefore if you have been discharged from your debts your credit file should reflect that.

Is it right to expect 'default dates' on credit files to be close to the date of sequestration being approved/awarded?

Yes, I think they should be (or before).

If they aren't I think you have a case to request a correction.
