I have just realised that the household income is taken into consideration when working out monthly payments rather than individuals income
who is considering a td. Although we split the bills, food etc the other stuff is totally seperate no wonder my payment seemed slightly high.

Hey,
I am like you - my girlfriend and I split the majority of bills, but I have costs that apply to me only - e.g. my own mobile contract, car payments and petrol etc... Even my pet cats care costs...
My trustee allows for these payments and I count 100% of them towards my income/expenditure.
Maybe there is room for negotiation as I always stated that I thought it unfair my gf should pay for half of my car and other costs I was liable for...
Thanks for your reply scotslad. The monthly payment proposed is just affordable and no more. Do you think the creditors may ask for a higher contribution? If this were the case I definately couldn't proceed. Maybe I'll revisit a DAS?

Hi prenticebaby.
A debt arrangement scheme or a trust deed payment will be calculated in pretty much the same way and both require general creditor acceptance.
Obviously you should be wary about going ahead with either if you do not believe the proposed payment is viable.
