Could anyone help my trust deed keeps being extended due to arrears. This has extended me by 2 years.I am in the forces and was given a bonus they then added this bonus as arrears onto my trust deed and I was then taxed on this however Im paying WA the full bonus back. I also received a monthly bonus due to working away from home to cover my travel expenses which didnt even cover the full cost of the travel this amount has also been added on to my trust deed as they dont take the travelling into consideration. My trust deed just seems to never end can they keep adding on arrears.

Welcome to the trust deed forum grangers.

In my view there is probably some right and wrong going on here.

When you signed the trust deed you agreed to pay what you could afford towards the debts. If your income increased then it's usually the case that some or all of it needs to be paid over. If your income increased but this was not communicated to the trust deed firm I can see why they might consider an extension to be appropriate.

However, I cannot see why you should be paying extra for money that you did not receive (the amount that was taxed). I also feel that if a travel allowance is paid to cover extra costs (which did not exist in your original budget) then those extra costs really should be considered and taken into account when working out whether anything extra is due.

My suggestion would be to write to your Trustee personally, setting out what you think hasn't been taken into account correctly and ask them to review the situation and what they are asking of you.
