Hi, can you advise me on time limits creditors entries on my credit file expires. My trust deed start date was Sept 2008, my discharge notice was Jan 2013. The creditors who were paid from the trust deed can they keep information on my credit report longer than the trust deed notice.
Thanks D
Hi deebee996.
Any entry will stay for six years. The question is whether the entry should be there in the first instance, or needs to be changed or removed in line with the circumstances.
What's on your credit file that is concerning you?
Hi A, all my creditors apart from Tesco Finance have entered satisfied on my credit report. I was discharged in Jan 2013 but Tesco refused to update my credit file as they said they were awaiting final dividend payment, even though i sent them a copy of my discharge letter. I have recieved a letter from Tesco in Dec 2013 stating the account is now closed. They havent updated my credit file to reflect this, also i have other concerns regarding "default" from Tesco on my credit file as they have entered default for every month for the last 6 years even though they accepted the Trust Deed payments for this period. I dont know how to resolve this.
Hi deebee996.
I'll try to answer, but please remember that nobody here has any training or qualifications in the field of credit ratings.
If Tesco have issued a Default Notice it should be marked as being satisfied or partially satisfied once you're discharged. It's not relevant whether they've received a dividend or your trustee has been discharged according to the Information Commissioner. See:

This article also advises what action you can take.
The balance owed should be set to zero once you're discharged.
Indicating that an account status is "default" is different to the issue of a formal Default Notice. The "default" status just means that you were well behind on your contractual repayments, which presumably you were during your trust deed. I might be wrong but I'm not sure there's much that you can do about this.
