In early 2009 my Trust deed completed and I assumed that chapter of my life was over. However I still get letters and emails from them now and again. They don't ask for money but they show the outstanding balance. At the time I entered into the Trust Deed Egg were my main creditor and they accepted the TD so why are they still sending me letters with my outstanding balance?

Most recently I had an email explaining the egg had been sold to barclays it said this:

"Your account has been transferred to Barclays Bank PLC as there's still a balance remaining. You should continue to make payments to your Egg Card in the usual way. If you're in any doubt over this please contact us by sending a secure message - just log in to 'your accounts' at egg.com clicking on the option to 'Contact us' then 'Send a message' and finally selecting 'Egg Card'."

Is this just something sent out automatically by and computer, shouldn't I be off their records now? I have thought about contacting them but was always advised not to enter into any direct discussions with my creditors after the TD started.

I am not sure if I can contact the company who did my trust deed as I am now discharged and have been for a couple of years now.

Any advice on what to do here?

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum Amelie.

There's nothing for you to worry about if these creditors were part of your trust deed. They simply reflect the fact that these creditors haven't properly updated their records.

I'd suggest you contact them directly and ask that the accounts are promptly closed and that the statements stop coming.

In my experience if you write and/or fax their complaints department that can help because they're obliged to respond with a certain time.

I found it an instant fix for Barclaycard's continued contact.

Amelie,
Same here I completed my TD in 2009 and received an email last week. Going to call them myself as well as they said they have transferred my account to Barclays so does that mean Barclays will start chasing me for payment? Called my IP last week but they say they will not have time to look at this until next week which was a bit dissapointing to be honest as I am really concerned over this. had hoped I had put all this behind me!
Good luck anyway.
Cheers

I emailed Egg and they asked me to call them which I just did. I spoke to someone from the insolvency team who said that the emails and letters were just being automatically generated by their system. They said they would try and stop the letters being sent out but that I had to send in a copy of my trust deed completion certificate.

I am actually not sure if I should, surely the IP would have done this?

Just spoke to my IP and they are going to send a letter to Egg for me however they have already done this so I'm not sure what is going on with Egg. I just hope they close off the accounts and stop sending me letters and emails.

Hi Amelie

Just to re-iterate what I said before, I'd suggest sending a recorded delivery letter to their complaints department.

In my experience, that seems to get results.

Cheers,

DFW
