Hi maverick267.

How much tax in total was underpaid for 2010/2011?

Are you an employee?

Probably best to see what your tax adviser has to say before panicking too much maverick267.

It seems like a very large amount assuming that your tax is collected by PAYE.

Hi maverick267.

I'm no tax expert, and you should seek your own advice, but the idea that a pension should be taxed at 40% irrespective of your earned income level doesn't make any sense to me.

spoke to tax advisor and they are right ,tax on pension is 40% also reduced income code to k229 to get back £3200 from year 2010-2011 tax man says this is becasue of underpaymnets going back to 2007.so i guess i will get this till i retire.i am enquiring about handing the car back as i will not be able to afford payments so not sure if any money i get can be put towards a cheaper car(obviously second hand)or do i hand trustee the money

Hi maverick267.

That's going to be a question for your trustee I think.
