Was informed yesterday by my trustdeed company that David emanuelMerton mond had been given the right to appeal! Couldn't see anything myself on supreme Court Web site can anyone clarify the situation for me ? Thanks G
The Supreme Court website doesn't yet have anything about this case, as you say.
If your trustee/trust deed company has told you, unequivocally, that Mr Mond has been given the right to appeal, ask them for sight of/copies of the evidence to back up this statement.
Is there any diffinitve way to know or find out what's happening with the supreme Court? G
I'm sorry I've missed a couple of weeks of the forum by off topic you meant? The last time I was reading the forum everything hinged on this decision ? G
Off-topic only in respect of your specific question - simply because nobody here has any expertise in the machinations of the Supreme Court. Off-topic for our experts in terms of their knowledge, not in terms of understandable interest to you any many others.
This case seems to have taken on a lot of importance, but it's not the only thing going on that might be relevant.
I have read that the Court of Session refused leave for an appeal on this case to be taken to the UK Supreme Court (at the end of last week).
I've also read that it's now possible for Mr Mond make a request for permission to appeal directly to the Supreme Court.
We understand that this topic is of great interest to many forum members and we're very happy to share any news that we hear. Please remember we're not legally trained nor do we have any particular knowledge of how these things work. We're unlikely to be able to answer any follow-up "what happens next" or "what does this mean" type of questions because we're no better positioned to answer them than many of you are.
Have we heard anything else ?
Where did you read that tda
Does any one know how long mr mind has to appeal to superego court
I have emailed Mr Mond to ask this very question and await his response
The reply I had from mr Mond, he is directly appealing to the Supreme Court and that's all, just a case of wait and see. Will let u know if I hear anything else.
I'm no expert, but I hear that the barrier to overcome in order to have an appeal heard in the Supreme Court is a very high one.
Wanting to do this may not be the same thing as actually being able to do this.
