Hi there looking for advice on my TD. I am halfway there and always communication has been good in my financial struggle with and payments reduced and it was hard going there few months before Christmas. TD advised perhaps I may be entitled to other benefits that may help so great I thought and on I went and applied for Housing and council tax benefit. I was awarded quite a reduction in January there and I was relieved until I advised Td firm! They doubled my contribution to full amount. I was gutted i did call you for advice at that point and progressed to speak to TD explaining that a LILA now would be a better option. I was told I had this option at the beginning and nothing they could do but to continue let know if was struggling! My financial situation has changed quite considerably since starting on TD anyway I have battled on. In March there I advised them I could see I was not going to manage it was quite obvious! Pay went in for £537 and I had 79 left! I have a new TD manager also who's response to me seems bit slow anyway after having to basically beg because no paperwork yet on tax credits!Although well known fact they were cut! Anyway I had payment reduced to half but that did not happen and I am reaaly struggling. I feel of this past months TD it has become as much worry and stress as when I was in debt. There is just me and my Son who is 13 and he needs so much and that no come cheap these days. I have wonderful family and friends who help me out but I need to get this sorted as I cannot go on stress and struggle like this anymore! Sorry for going on and look forward to advice. Thanks in advance.

Hi juliej1612 and welcome to the trust deed forum.

It sounds as though it would be worthwhile asking for a copy of the financial statement (of income and expenditure) that your trust deed company is using to work out your monthly contribution.

That would give you the opportunity to see if there are any mistakes in there that are causing this ongoing payment difficulty for you.

It will also give you the opportunity to check that the allowances made for your expenditure are manageable and in line with what you actually need to spend.

You say that your payment was reduced to half but it didn't actually happen. Could you clarify exactly what happened for us?

Hi there and thanks for the welcome. Just to clarify as I forgot! you advised also for expenditure report when I called which I received and all seemed fine the problem is I have much less money coming in due to the tax credit cuts and no paperwork yet! After a few e-mails and a call yes it was agreed to half my contribution this month but the full amount of £161 was taken off! I have e-mailed my TD Manager twice and still no response. To be honest way I am feeling I no want speak to but I know I must. Hence me being here getting support and advice. Thanks

TD apologised contribution had not been reduced this month as had already been called for. Only half next month and they will do review once the new tax credits award arrive. Although that not much good to me at mo. The struggle was this month. Thats why I was in touch with them! Oh well here I go again make the pennies stretch very far! Big sigh. But some progress I guess! Thanks for the support helped a lot just coming on here although mostly me doing the talking lol [:)]

Hi juliej1612.

It's good to hear that everything has been sorted out, though I'm sorry to hear that this month is going to be difficult.

Hopefully everything will go smoothly from here.
