Hi guys,
Although my last payment to my trust deed was in August 2011, I am still waiting to be discharged. This was signed pre-2008 but this is really starting to grate me. I spoke to BDO who said that they have just started to close my account and that it will be another 5 to 8 weeks before I am disharged. This really is unfair to have to wait so long.
Has anyone else had to wait nearly 6 months until discharge?

Sadly we have had reports of similar timescales in the forum before.
There is no reason for it to take this long unless there are unresolved issues to be dealt with (though I understand post April 2008 cases can generally be closed quicker than older ones).
I'm certainly not refering to your trust deed firm in particular, but I sometimes get the impression that some firms don't appreciate just how important being promptly discharged is to many people after having worked so hard to meet the commitments that have been made.
It is good to hear that the process is underway for you now though and that you have been given an expectation for how long it will take.
