Hi There, Can someone advise the official start date of a trust deed? is it the date of signing or the date it becomes protected? My credit file has the signed date which is great, Just wanted clarity also on is it 6 years after the signed date it should fall off credit report ?

Hi Welcome14.

I believe that you are correct.

The appropriate date is the signing date. It will leave your credit report around 6 years after this.

Welcome

the start date is the date in which the trustee signs the deed making it legally effective.

If you search the register of insolvencies it will give you the date.

Hi Welcome 14,

As Sharon has advised it's the date that either the Trustee signs the actual Trust Deed or the date which you sign this. Either way it's right at the very start of the process and not the protection point.

Best thing to do is check the register of insolvencies. You can find this on the Accountant in Bankruptcy website. You can input your name and it should bring up details of your Trust Deed. If you an the Trustee have been discharged then it may not show up.

That's fantastic news and congratulations on the promotion at work. Hopefully a nice pay rise too. That combined with the money you won't need to pay to the Trust Deed will come in handy I'm sure.

Speak with your Trustee to see how many months you have left and how long it will take to receive your Form 5 Certificate of Discharge.

That must make the promotion extra special when there was a threat or redundancy. Sounds like 2019 and beyond will be really positive for you.

Give your Trustee a call after your final payment to let them know and then chase up that Form 5!
