I currently have a joint mortgage with my ex partner but he is looking into buying me out. I currently reside with my mum at her property with my two kids and her 4 dogs. To say we are over crowded is an understatement. If my husband buys me out will all that money go to the trust deed? The reason I ask is incase I can use some of that money to look for my own place?

Hi Twinkle33.

These things should always be checked with your trustee, but I'm afraid to say that your trustee is highly likely to look to recover any profit from a sale to help repay your creditors.

Ok thank you. I think I will apply for a council house as I wouldn't be in the position to buy on my own due to my credit rating anyway

That's the thing I suppose Twinkle33.

Having a deposit may not be especially useful if you cannot obtain a mortgage.
