Hi guys,
Been lurking since I last needed advice - but I am in need of a bit more.
Got a review coming up and after a tough year with my car and repairs etc I am intending to build in a car upkeep payment.
I was wondering what you guys thought was an acceptable amount to allocate - due to the mileage I do I need 2 services a year and one new set of tyres usually around November. I have also had the odd bit here and there to fix with suspension.
Services are about £150 each and through a mate I can get a full set of tyres for about £160. Would it be acceptable to divide these payments by 12 and add that to my monthly outgoings?
Cheers
Hello Scotslad.
I think any car owner should include a sum to cover car maintenance at the start and during a trust deed.
A figure around £20-£25 per month would usually be acceptable to creditors, though trust deed providers may individually take their own view.
If you use your car a lot I can see how this figure might be insufficient, but with justification a higher figure might be acceptable.
Do you think building in a realistic allowance is going to reduce your ability to maintain your existing trust deed payment?
THanks guys, have contacted KPMG to seek advice too. Will make a formal complaint against Lloyds TSB also
