Is it just me or has the forum been taken over by new posters obviously involved in this business trying to impress us all with their 'knowledge' of trust deeds and related matters.

There was a time when you could ask a question and get a straight answer or at least some guidance, now the forum seems to be posting complex law cases.

I'm sure there is a forum somewhere else where you can try to impress with your 'knowledge' but not this one please. It was like a breath of fresh air finding this website.

Surely it is better to be aware of all the pitfalls and options, rather than people rushing into signing a Trust Deed or in some cases not signing a Trust Deed.

Maybe there are people out there who signed Trust Deeds with the now defunct companies (previously mentioned in other parts of the Forum)who would have welcomed more input.

Sorry to disappoint but I intend to continue with my input to the site, unless access is removed!!!!!!!

Let's be clear what this website and the forum is for:

The site exists to help people who want to learn how they might deal with debts that are causing them concern, people who are considering a Trust Deed but needing more information or guidance before making a decision, or persons who are in a Trust Deed already but needing further information because they are uncertain how something works or concerned that they are not being treated properly or respectfully by their Trust Deed company.
Very importantly the site also exists to provide a level of support to people who may find it hard to talk to others person-to-person about their situation.

The site and experts have always tried to help people in the forum on a practical level and, where appropriate, point visitors in the right direction to other sources of help.

A web-forum simply isn't an appropriate place to provide especially in-depth content/advice as it isn't really possible to fully understand a persons circumstances and needs in sufficient detail. We're here to answer questions about debt in general and Trust Deeds in particular... we're not here to bring insolvency law or detailed reporting of insolvency procedures to visitors.
Experience suggests that a practical approach is welcomed by visitors to the site.

The site generally works on an open-access basis and anybody who has knowledge that can assist the site in meeting our goals (of helping people as previously described) is very welcome.

To that end I'd encourage and request that those with relevant knowledge who are contributing to the site remember:

1 - We seek to help visitors practically; there may be a few times where in-depth content is appropriate but showcasing knowledge in general is not.

2 - Those with knowledge may from time to time disagree (or even get things wrong). The site is not a place for point-scoring against others, but pointing out alternative views in a positive way is helpful for readers seeking to make choices.

Please note that this post is not directed at any particular member. It's some background that may be helpful to newer members about the ethos and purpose of the site.

I agree Insolvency Boy. On review of a few posts I am concerned over certain statements and will continue with offering advice where required.
