Hi

Who is the best company to use and the cheapest to look up your credit history ? and is it too early to expect to see changes, ? I was released on the 5th September but the trustees haven't released themselves yet, does this also make a difference to what you see on your credit history ?.

Hi nells99.

When we researched this we thought Experian's CreditExpert was the best option. We explain why (and provide access to a free trial) at:

(Updated Link 2020: https://www.trust-deed.co.uk/repair-your-credit-rating.html).

There is a significant monthly charge after the free trial if you don't cancel it. Some people have spoken highly of the free Noddle service in this forum.

If you're discharged you don't owe the money any longer and your credit file should reflect this. Whether your trustee is discharged shouldn't be relevant.

Two months seems long enough to expect creditors to have made updates but we often hear that some of them do require chasing to do this.

Hi TDA

just made a call to the trustee, my file is closed, which is great news. as for Experian because I registered with them last year I will be charged ยฃ14.99 for the month ๐Ÿ™ hopefully I will have more luck with noddle.

Hi

got onto the Noddle :), I have noticed there is still a default with a company, should this not be closed now that all dividends have now been paid?

Hi.

If an account is marked as being in default then we think the balance should be set to zero (and therefore no longer be in default).

If you're talking about a formal Default Notice this should be marked as being satisfied or partially satisfied.

Hi TDA

It looks as though there is still a balance to pay before it can become satisfied or partially satisfied. the other thing is i dont recognize the creditor ๐Ÿ™

If you've been discharged there is no balance to pay - the debt no longer exists nells99. Your file should be updated to reflect that.

I think this will be the debt purchaser you've mentioned on a different thread?
