due to sign TD in a week and a half ... calls and letters still coming fast a furious.I thought about telling them of impending TD ,however, then worried that they might speed up more serious routes of collection like wage arrestment or ccj. neither of which i know what process is but panicked when i thought of it hence this post.could this be possible or is my neurosis in overdrive?

Get caller display. Anything you don't recognise, ignore. If you have an answer machine, let it pick up everything. Once you're protected, change your phone number and forward any correspondence to your trustee. The calls and letters will stop and then you'll get one once a year-ish from each loan company as they have to issue statements until the debt is settled apparently and I think that's what happens at the end of the 36 payments.

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!

Hi cal.

There's no harm in telling them that you're taking advice on your debts and that they will receive a proposal soon.

Some creditors will back off for a period when they are told this.

They did back off when said about cccs but they are now full on again. Obviously they want to know something !! I take it wage arrest or ccj can't happen in a week and half ? Oh and thanks Gillian I intend to change number as soon as deed signed !

Cal........

Luckily for me I was up to date with all my creditors until I signed my Trust Deed, obviously when I signed I cancelled all my direct debits and standing orders to them. only at this stage did I start getting calls. All I did when they called was to politely advise them that I was taking advice on my debts and offered to give them a contact number for my Trustee, this would usually suffice and they would simply take note but advise me they would be back in touch in roughly a week, where I'd tell the same again........ It was a pain but well worth it to eventually get them off my back after it became protected.....

Finally I'd have to say I'd never change my number after my Trust Deed became protected as the calls will eventually stop and you can get on with your life......

Good luck and start looking forward........
