Hi....I have just been told my trust deed has been accepted, the only one objecting was Nationwide. I asked a question as to whether this could cause a problem with our mortgage with them....which is in husband's name only. I received this reply.
Your Trust Deed has nothing whatsoever to do with your husband or any credit he has in his name. There is nothing which should prevent your husband from obtaining credit as long as it is not in joint names with you.
Nationwide have objected to the protection of the Trust Deed as the Trustee did not opt to follow their fee structure in relation to the administration of the Trust Deed. They also objected as there was no joint income and expenditure stated on the proposal issued to your creditors however, there is no requirement to do this in a Trust Deed, only in an IVA which is the English equivalent.
Hi...sorry about that. I did mean to say at the end...how do creditors know then you can't afford to pay them if they don't see income and expenditure?
Yes they have. Puts my mind at rest AGAIN. Thank you.
Hi SunnyM,
It’s good to hear that your Trust Deed has now become protected. I’m sure this will come as a relief and in time for Christmas and New Year.
I would focus on looking forward now, making all of your payments and in 4 years’ time you will be debt free and able to put all of this behind you.
