Hi, I returned 6 separate PPI acceptance forms and RBS have confirmed receipt via text message. Over the past couple of days I've received text messages as each of these have been processed. The message says "we confirm your payment has been made by cheque. Please allow 10 working days for receipt".

After reading stuff on here, I'd given up any hope of getting this money back. Could be a standard message I guess but wondered if any forum members had the same messages to then get the bad news through the post rather than a cheque?

I know I just need to wait on the post coming but the suspense is driving me mad! If it's just a standard text, I'd be better prepared for the bad news.

Thanks!

Hi AnnieP,

If the RBS was a creditor in your Trust Deed and they didn't get repaid in full then there is a good chance that they will keep the funds. If the amount of PPI money that they would have paid you is more then the debt that you owed them then you may get the left over balance.

It does sound like this is their standard procedure and at the final stage before actually paying you they will check to see if you have had a Trust Deed or Bankruptcy before payout.

I think you need to be prepared for no PPI funds. Obviously if you do receive the money then it's a bonus.

I'm sorry it's not more positive.

Keep us updated and fingers crossed you do receive the funds.
