Hi all,
Can anyone shed some light on a question about the Discharge date on an Experian Credit file? I recently got a copy of my file which shows an entry in the Public Records Section for my Trust Deed, with a discharge date of 11/07/16
This is 3 years from the date of signing my PTD, but I haven't actually been discharged (or even finished paying into it!) - I've got about another 16 months to go to cover equity in my home, and some arrears for a couple of reduced payments along the way.
I looked on the Register of Insolvencies, but cant find an entry for my PTD (I do remember seeing it there about 2 years ago, when I wanted to see what info they published about me!)
Has this happened to anyone else? Does it mean the ROI think the entire deed had been discharged, or that I have been discharged, but the Trustee hasn't?
I suppose it looks better on my credit file, but sadly, I think its a mistake....
Hi JJDecay,
Can I suggest you check the Register of Insolvencies again?
Sometimes entering in much less information can help to find a result - just surname for example.
If you're truly not on there, and the credit reference agencies are reporting that you've been discharged, you might want to query with your trustee what the current situation really is.
I suspect searching for your trust deed on the register in different ways is likely to find the details still on there.
As for the credit reference agencies, I guess you'll want to weigh up whether you want to address this in any way at all.
It's the same on mine, 3 years from signing date. My signing date is very close to yours, though I was discharged in Oct 2015 after paying off early with the agreement of the Trustee. I've contacted them regarding this and they've asked if I can provide documentation to confirm, so I think it would be fairly easily fixed. I've managed to get a "normal" credit card recently though so it cant be causing too many problems over and above the main one, being the trust deed itself.
