I have just signed my trust deed, which I will be paying ?ú500 per month. I t just been posted in the Edinburgh Gazette so have a long 5 weeks to wait untill I see if it goes protected, I was wondering on the chances or the likley hood of it being regected, very scared at the moment not sure what will happen if this happens. Can anyone tell me how often they are regected.
Hi toomuchdebt,
Please be reassured that the vast majority of Trust Deeds do become protected. Your Trustee would probably not have put your case forwards unless they felt the creditors were likely to agree.
Fingers crossed for you.
Thanks for the reply, fingers crossed everything is ok there a probabily a lot of people going through the same stress at the moment.
I just feel very nervous at the moment, its not that I didnt want to pay my debts I have just found myself with nowhere else to turn, I had asked one of my creditor if they could reduce the interest as I was struggling to make the payments but was told there was nothing they could do, over the last 8 months I have paid just over ?ú2500 this card with a ?ú6400 balance on it I now owe ?ú6745 on it and this is with one payment missed cause I signed my trust deed the interest is just not possible to meet or continue with.
Will keep the forum updated with my progress

Given the circumstances I think you can be proud that you did all that you could to resolve the situation with your creditors before deciding that a Protected Trust Deed was the only option to deal with your debt.
There seems to be a lot of justified anger around about increases in interest rates on credit cards being imposed on customers at a time when general interest rates are so low.
If this contributes to a situation where people are forced down the path of insolvency it doesn't seem to make sense for anyone (including the credit card company).
