I got more letters from my yet to be discgharged trustee. It was copies sent to creditors saying that my trustee remains in office while PPI claims are being chased. I emailed them to query this and they gave me the phone number of the company who are dealing with the claim on their behalf. The number was wrong (a small issue). I ended up emailing them and got a reply today. They told me that as they had objections lodged, there was no claim being pursued and that they'd closed it at their end. Now I can't believe that happened yesterday so have emailed a copy of this to my trustee.
To say I'm getting annoyed with this is an understatement. Any ideas of where I go from here? It seems fees are being allocated for something that is a non-event. I know I don't have anything else to pay but it does seem a tad unethical to me.

Hi Gillian. The same thing is happening with me and from reading our earlier posts I think we may be with the same company. When I first recieved the PPI paper work from the investigating company I contacted my TD company and lodged my objections. I also emailed the investigating company. I was assured this was the end of the matter. On my last update circular the expected end date of TD was 2013 and apparently this was to pursue the PPI. When I asked my point of contact at TD company I was told this was an oversight and that my objections had been lodged and that no claim was being pursued. Low and behold 2 days ago I recieved another letter which was another circular being sent around my creditors informing then of the fees were going to be collected for the investigaiton of PPI! I have given up now. ๐ I sincerely hope you get things sorted out.
Let's hope there is some administrative oversight here.
Creditors bearing additional trust deed fees for non-existent PPI investigations doesn't sound like something anyone would want to see happening.
Would your trust deed company bagin with the letter 'I' Newbie? I'm going to give it a couple of days to see if they respond to the email then I'll call them and ask what's going on. I got my form 5 in February yet it says on the circulars that my expected discharge is th 27th July 2012. It's annoying that they say they'll be taking fees for something which isn't happening.

I got an email from them saying 'oh yes, that's been cancelled. We'll forward your account for closure ASAP.' That objection was lodged months ago and repeatedly. I've received various letters to say that they're chasing PPI and charging fees. As far as I'm concerned, they shouldn't be charging fees for this but we'll see whether I get more letters. Fingers crossed the next one should be my trustee discharging themselves.
