On 18/2/2009 I signed my TD. In 1 weeks time it'll be 6 years to the day since signing. I phoned Apex today to see how my trustee discharge is getting on. I got told they're not sure & will get back to me. Surely it doesn't take 6 years to chase up PPI ? I don't care how complex it is, 6 years is a disgrace. I now think they must be concentrating on current issues & trust deeds & can't be bothering about older ones. Please someone enlighten me with an answer to this ???

Hi p boy kk.

I think you'll need to chase up your trustee and/or the claims company to find out exactly where they're up to. It certainly doesn't sound as though the process started until quite late.

Assuming that you have been discharged (I believe you are) how is the failure of the trustee to be discharged affecting you?

Yes I was discharged on 4/10/2011. I know a lot of people probably don't mind if the trustee discharges themselves or not but it really bothers me. My overall trust deed experience was great. I didn't have a good time with the company I chose & always felt once I had signed that they had me. My trust deed was paid off about 10 months before my discharge as there was a death in my family. It then took nearly a year of phone calls to chase my discharge up & at this stage I was getting told it was due to PPI. We have strict guidelines during our TD we have to follow ie payments, reviews regarding finance etc but a lot of the time it doesn't work the other way. I'm now looking for closure on this part of my life & repeatedly getting told it's dragging on due to PPI is ridiculous. A TD has been great regarding getting my life back on track but as I said the overall experience has been disgraceful. If I was to treat my clients in my work the way I have been treated & fobbed off I wouldn't have a business. And to finish off I don't think we have a lot of information regarding complaints or feel it would do any good. So until my trustee discharge happens that dark part of my life isn't over.

You're far from being the only person to express similar feelings here p boy kk.

I wouldn't expect that this situation should have any practical effects upon what you can and cannot do, but I recognise that practicality isn't the only important aspect of this for you.
