I was discharged from my trust deed in 2014 January. I have now received WoRd that I am entitled to a ppi refund but have been advised to find out if my trustee has been discharged from the trust deed as well as me. How do I go about doing this. My agreement was taken out in June 2010 with ag taggart. I have been on the public search for insolvency prosetted trust deeds and trust deed adverts but it did not yield any results with my name .

Welcome to the forum Jenniferclimie.

If both you and your trustee have been discharged from your trust deed, it's likely that this money will come to you.

The firm making any payout may wish to confirm with your former trustee that they have no interest in the funds before they make any payment to you.

Three ways to confirm your trustee has been discharged:

1 - Check the Register of Insolvencies. If you're not on there at all, that's likely because your trustee was discharged more than a year ago.

2 - Check with the firm itself.

3 - If all else fails, the Accountant in Bankruptcy may have records about the discharge date of your trustee (assuming that this has happened of course).
