My husband had a trust deed that he paid off in June of last year. He made 30 payments of £131.00, along with a lump sum of £2358, and a successful PPI claim of £898, paying £7186 towards his creditor,(the PPI was claimed against them). He only had the one creditor to pay off (Northern Rock). He received a letter from his trustee on 4/3/15 looking to complete administration of of this case. The letter states that the creditor has 14 days to have acceded to the content and proposed actions regarding settlement. Over the last 6 weeks he thought he try and submit a claim for PPI against a credit card he had years ago with BOS . I personally thought it was a waste of time, and tried to put him of doing this. He received a letter today to say that they were going to uphold his his claim and pay him over £4000, but said on the letter that they were going to redress payment to his involvency practitioner,as it would normally be an asset to his arrangement. Can you advise please? He is undergoing treatment for cancer in hospital at the moment, and I'm trying to find out the ins and outs of this before I let him know. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi dt3005.

It's probably as simple as this...

If your husband's trustee has been discharged your husband may get the money.

If the trustee has not been discharged the money is likely to go into the trust deed.

The trustee's current status on this case can be checked on the Register of Insolvencies via the AIB's website.
