My trust deed finished nearly a year ago, yet I have still to be discharged due to on-going PPI claims. How long can these take as I really want to start making a fresh start. I also own my house & need to get equity on it to pay off a balance to the trust deed company. Who is the best remortgage company to go to & can you get extra money to pay of other secured loans?

Hello cameron24 and welcome to the forum.

PPI claims can vary in duration. I suggest that you call the claims company for an update.

I'm not aware of any realistic remortgage options currently for someone in a trust deed. With that in mind I think you need to contact your trust deed company to discuss what other options exist to deal with the equity in your home.

Hi, i was in the same position as you, my td over-ran for about a year due to ppi claims, i found my td useless to get info on how much longer it was going to take, i ended up speaking directly to the 3rd party company that was processing the claims & they couldn't have been more helpful, they told me to speak to them directly as my td didn't have all the info, keep pestering them every week and you'll be amazed at how quickly it'll move, i'm now discharged thank god, it took about 5 months for all my ppi claims to be done, hope this helps x
