Looking for some information. I made a claim for PPI through a company, and have received a letter from Halifax today saying they have upheld my complaint and that I should receive a payment, but that it has been sent to my trustee as their information shows I am under an IVA/Trustdeed.
Now I did have a trust deed, but I have a letter confirming that I was discharged on 10/07/2006. I have checked aib website and can’t track anything with my details. Does anyone have any knowledge as to whether this PPI payment would still be used to go towards previous creditors under the trusteed. It’s been that long ago will my trustee even still have my details? They most definately wont have my current address and i’m also now married, so I will contact them Monday regarding that, i’m just wondering whether they will get the full PPI payment.
Welcome to the forum Queenie.
The chances are that your former trustee will give consent for the funds to be paid to you.
There's some uncertainty in this area though, so you might have to sit tight for a while to see what happens.
Hi Queenie,
There are loads of good threads on here on the subject of PPI post Trust Deed. Go to the search feature and type in 'PPI'.
Its worth spending 30-60 minutes or so to read all the issues.
Let us know how you got on!
Thanks to you both for your replies. I contacted my trustee this morning who said they weren’t interested in the funds. They phoned Halifax and confirmed. Halifax state that they have passed the details to the relevant dpt to get the cheque stopped but can give no time frame on when they will issue the payment to me.
In the meantime the ppi claims company have already issued my invoice in the post [:(]
