Hi there

Sorry to open another thread regarding PPI claims, however, I was hoping someone may be able to offer some advice/knowledge regarding my current situation.

I signed my TD in June 2005, and was discharged in August 2008. I claimed for mis-sold PPI in December 2011 and the offers of settlement came in, however my one main problem company has been American Express.

The PPI complaints team have settled my complaint and made me an offer which I accepted. On contacting them again after no payment was forthcoming the PPI team put me through to the customer service team as they had forwarded the credit through to my 'account'. As I entered the Trust Deed in 2005, I therefore, don't have a live credit card account with them, so found this a little odd. When I spoke with the customer service advisor they advised that my TD company would have to apply for the credit refund. My TD company no longer deal in TDs and have no interest in pursuing this on my behalf. On telling American Express of this they advised I put this in writing. I have done so on 3 separate occasions now and still no refund has been forthcoming.

Should I now take this to the ombudsman to pursue?

Any help or advise is much appreciated.

Welcome to the trust deed forum Sonj24.

We're not claims experts really, but if you're getting nowhere there may come a point at which the Financial Ombudsman will be the the only way to get the situation moving forwards again.
