Completed TD , filled in forms for PPI ( which is still being chased up) at the moment by alley .
Have my discharge letter.
I received a form saying that one of my PPI queries was successful with Clydesdale bank.
Then one saying that the co-operative bank can't find me in their system.
Asking for previous addresses and names.
- first if I have PPI with Clydesdale bank it must be over 10 years ago ( a lot over )
- second the co-op was a credit card with no PPI . It was definately taken out while I lived at my current address. All of my debts within the trust deed were. I have lived at my current address for 10 years.
My query is that the co-op should have my details and there is no PPI. The Clydesdale bank may have a different address for my PPI if it was 10-20 years ago I had loans from them with PPI.
Are alley ( dealing with my trust deed company) entitled to claim PPI from this far back?
When it was not at the time of my debt or trust deed?
Are they entitled to ask for addresses more than 10 years ago?
Thanks in advance . Not trying to be awkward at all. I filled in all forms asked in good faith. This just doesn't make sense to me
Hi ann910.
The date when PPI was purchased is a red herring here. What's relevant is, at the time you entered a trust deed, the potential to reclaim PPI existed. That potential is/was an asset and it vested in your trustee when you signed.
Think of it a different way perhaps. Someone might have lots of equity in their home from mortgage payments long before they got into debt trouble. That equity is also an asset at the time a trust deed is signed and vests in a trustee to help repay creditors.
It seems reasonable to me that you provide basic assistance with this process. If lots of people didn't, trustees might decide to refuse to discharge their clients until all of this was finished. That could take months, or even years, leaving people less able to get on with their futures. Not so long ago this is exactly how it was.
Hi ann910,
If your Trustee is still in office and investigating PPI then unfortunately you will not benefit from any successful claim.
Your best to speak with your Trustee and inform them about your correspondence with the lenders. This may speed things up and enable the Trustee to be discharged sooner.

Hi thanks for the replies.
I understand I have no claim at all.
It was the false details which did not sit well with me.
ie co-operative need a previous address when I know that
Is not the case.
Just made me think they were trying to ask for something under false pretences.
I will supply the details
