Guy's my trust deed finished last year, I finally got discharged in March this year and recievd my form 5 confirming this.

I've recently been trying to claim missold ppi from the bank of Scotland and had an offer of 5k + which sounds amazing but BOS are now saying the money will go to my trustee, my trustee says that they won't be accepting any money as I've met my obligations and my case is closed and the money should go directly to me .. Can anyone confirm this ?

Hi weegeordie.

If your trustee has been discharged from your case they cannot take this money.

If they haven't been discharged they probably will take this money to help repay more to your creditors.

Hopefully you can persuade either your trustee or Bank of Scotland to send the money to you if your trustee has already been discharged.

Bank of Scotland might be uncomfortable sending it to you, so you might need some help from your ex trustee.

Thanks, when in first spoke to BOS they said if i was claiming the PPI during the trust deed the money would be sent my trustee, but ive only made the claim at the beginning of August 2014, so i was discharged long before.

My Ex Trustee are sending them confirmation of the discharge and the relevent paper work

Hi both.

It's your trustee's discharge that is relevant here, not your own.

Hi weegeordie,

Stick with the claim. It might take a bit of time and effort from you but if you receive the money it will be worth it. There is always the chance though that the bank could find a reason not to pay the money out to you even if your Trustee has been discharged.

There have been similar stories on the forum over the last couple of months where the Trustee has been discharged and the bank has paid out PPI directly to the client so fingers crossed!

Keep us updated and let us know how you get on.
