Hi, I have unexpectedly been ill and registered disabled, I have returned to work after a few months off, I have been awarded PIP, the trustee wants half, is that normal? I feel its wrong to take this into account with the trust deed but I may need to just accept that

However, I am shortly going to be left without a car and the trustee will not give me any allowance but the problem is that without a car i cannot get to work, I cannot walk great distances but I want to return, so its catch 22 as I cannot get credit to buy a car but without it I will need to give up my job, meaning trust deed will fail, I have spoken to the Company but they are very slow to reply and I really dont need this stress,

Hi Pinkveggie.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been unwell.

A trustee will take into account all sources of income when calculating an affordable and fair payment level.

Likewise they should take account of all reasonable expenditure. Getting to work is clearly reasonable expenditure usually.

I'm afraid you're going to need to keep making your case to your trustee on this. As you describe the situation it will suit nobody if you don't have a transport option. I'd therefore think your chances of getting something workable agreed are very high.
