Hi Stressedtothemax

You should contact your Trust deed company ASAP and explain the situation, they should refund the payment promptly. They're there to assist you and are already well aware that you cannot be without this money all month.

Sounds like an error at your bank in the setting up of the standing order stressedtothemax.

It's hard to think they couldn't make a transfer of money to your account once they confirm they have received cleared funds (and that it's a result of an error that was out of your control).

When i call my td advisor she said, it had been late getting there and not set up in time,so just to make the payment online and would start the following month but after phoning my bank tonight, as the payment date was the 1st July as soon as it was set up the bank made the payment cos it was late! I was just starting to calm down after the initial signing up and now i think i am more stressed than i was trying to work out, how i am going to manage to live for the next month!!

Hi stressedtothemax

You sent the funds to the trustee via standing order so it's cleared funds. I agree with TDA that there would be no reason for the trustee to have to issue you a cheque. If the trustee makes the refund tomorrow via BACS it would be with you within 2 business days but most banks can now send via Faster Payments which means the funds would be received by you within 2 hours. Phone your trustee first thing and ask for a refund via faster payment and you should be fine. The banks don't charge for this

Hope this has helped

Stressedtothemax - didn't you just cancel the old standing order and set up a new one? If so the bank should not have paid your TD provider and they should just refund the monies

no tin soldier it was my first payment! Phone td advisor and they said it hadnt reached bank on time so to make online payment, which i did, then when it finally reached the bank they made the payment as it was overdue. just a mess, had i not been told to pay it online, all would have been ok, but at same time can see why td advisor told me to pay online. juts hope it all gets sorted out quickly! if not god knows what i am going to do this month!

It's up to the TD company then to refund you and i'm sure they will, it's 36 monthly payments and you've made an extra one this month, i'm sure everything will be fine.

Let them know the situation regarding money, remember they know how much you have disposable income wise a month and will be quick to rectify it for you.

I am really hoping you are all right! Only time will tell I suppose, phone them first thing and keep everything crossed. Yeah exactly and if i could afford double my payment then obviously that is what i would be paying but they no i cant, so to refund would seem the answer. I just dont know how easy it would be to do. hoping very easy!

I'm sure Kevin will be pleased to read this when he gets back from holiday in a few days. Glad to hear it was all sorted out so quickly stressedtothemax.

Amidst some of the stories we read here about things going wrong with trust deeds, I think this thread perhaps helps to illustrate that there are plenty of trust deed providers that are truly dedicated to helping their clients and dealing with issues that arise from time to time.
