I have signed a trust deed and am waiting on it becoming protected.

In the meantime my girlfriend and I have spoken about her moving in.

Can anyone advise me on how her contribution to the household would be calculated in respect of the trust deed?

To keep the sums easy let's assume I earn £1800 per month and she earns £1200 so I earn 60% of the income and she earns 40%. Does that mean she would be expected to make a contribution of 40% towards the household bills and my trust deed payment would rise by the amount that equates to?

Can you also tell me which bills she is expected to contribute towards? Would it be the mortgage, council tax and fuel bills only?

Hi aber87.

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head.

In terms of the things she'd be seen to contribute to think about the things she'll benefit from directly.

So...

Mortgage, council tax, utilities etc yes.

Your mobile phone, clothing etc no.
